Meet the budget-friendly 2018 Dodge Journey SE

We recently blogged about the 2018 Dodge Journey, so instead of rehashing the same information we'll focus on the Dodge Journey SE base trim. Since the Journey's claim to fame is being a budget-friendly three-row vehicle, looking at the base trim just feels right. Plus it's the most popular choice at our dealership!

Engine

Dodge Journey SE comes standard with a 2.4L engine that has 173 horsepower and 166 lb-ft torque. If you want more power, you can upgrade to the 3.6L V6. It has 283 horsepower, 260 lb-ft torque, and comes in AWD. The 2.4L is adequate if you're doing simple commutes around the Ferriday, Jonesville, Vidalia LA, and Natchez MS areas we serve or mainly use the third-row for the occasional passengers. If you plan on having a car full of people or gear most of the time, we suggest going with the larger V6 engine.

Seating

The Dodge Journey is a three-row vehicle that seats seven. In the past, the third row was optional, but it's now standard. The SE has 60/40 split seats with a slide and recline function, and the driver can manually adjust the height of their own seat.

Technology

The SE trim is fairly barebones. Standard technology includes a six-speaker sound system and a 4.3-inch touchscreen. For shoppers on a tight budget, or those who really don’t like having all the techy bells and whistles, the SE and its price tag is perfect.

If you do want a little extra but don't want to move up to the next trim, you can get the Connective Package that adds on Bluetooth, voice commands, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a few other items. There's also the Popular Equipment Package with three-zone climate control, a conversation mirror, and overhead storage.
